My Approach

I believe our connections to others are vital to our overall well-being, and therapy can be a powerful tool for exploring how we arrived at where we are, and how things might shift as we move forward. This includes reflecting on our families and relationships, and the ways they have shaped us. By understanding the blueprints we were given, we can begin to consider how we might reshape our beliefs and the internal stories we carry.

Many of the relationships in our lives may need attention, and that’s an important part of therapy. But often, the relationship that needs the most healing is the one we have with ourselves. In therapy, I create space not just to understand the facts of our lives, but to explore the meaning we’ve assigned to those experiences.

I frequently draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and internal family systems to support this process. People are endlessly complex, and I find meaning in helping bring light to areas that may have felt dark, through collaborative work. While I got my education in faith based institutions I take my clients’ lead in integrating faith and spirituality into our work.  I’m also LGBTQ affirming and desire to create a safe, accepting place for anyone who walks through my door.

My approach is relational and strength-based. While therapy often focuses heavily on problems, I also think it's important to recognize how some of the strategies that helped us in the past may no longer serve us—and that’s okay. Therapy can be a space to reflect, reimagine, and move forward with intention.
